When we were visiting my sister a few weekends ago, she mentioned that someday she'd like to milk a cow. "That's on my bucket list," she said. I-daughter immediately pointed out how appropriate that was ("milk a cow" and "bucket", that is), and -- to entertain ourselves on the drive home later -- I-daughter and I came up with the following Bucket List of our own. Suggestions for additions are welcome!
Bucket List
- Milk a cow
- Make maple syrup
- Bail out a boat
- Mix cement
- Pick peaches
- Write a limerick about Nantucket*
- Drum or busk
- Paint something large
- Chicken wings and beer
- Chill champagne
- Sing the "Dear Liza" song (very annoying)
- Put out a fire: bucket brigade
* My favorite in this vein:
There was an old man from NantucketWho hid all his cash and a bucket. His daughter, named Nan,Ran away with a man,And as for the bucket, Nantucket.
Fun! I'll play!
ReplyDelete* Film a slasher movie (buckets of blood)
And saved for last:
* Kick one
Love 'em! How could we have missed that last one?!?
DeleteWhy is the only thing I can think of not fun at all? (Catch leaks from a leaky roof!)
ReplyDeleteOh but we used to catch rain runoff for washing feet out in the countryside in buckets.
I'm pretty sure I could still fit Smol in a bucket to carry around, I just carried them in a laundry basket today to go do the wash...
Catching water from a leaking roof is a LOT better than NOT catching it! So says the homeowner who is waiting for a visit from a roofer at this very moment.
DeleteI used to carry my infants in canvas shopping bags. My 4-year-old daughter put our kittens in a lego bucket and "gave" the whole thing as a present to my dad, who got jack-in-the-box startled surprise when he opened he lid. The kitten wasn't pleased with the arrangement, either.
That's true! I hope the roof is now fixed?
DeleteXD I love that visual of the kitten popping out.
